ROOTS AND SHOOTS- JULY 12 -16
This week will focus on gardening and exploring plants and insects. The children will have the opportunity to plant and grow various things and delight in caring for their plants, watching them grow and watering them. We will also go on bug hunts learning about all types of insects and the way they live and move. The children will be able to create insect homes using natural materials and explore the outdoors using binoculars, magnifying glasses, and see plants in insect in their natural habitats. |
BUCKETS AND BOATS- JULY 19 – 23
Using buckets, shovels, wheel barrows and tubes, the children will have the opportunity to create an outdoor water-wonderland. Children can use their imagination to build tunnels through villages made of sand and water. Rivers can be created in the giant sized sandbox and filled with water from our rain barrel. Boats and various other vehicles can be added to the mix to experiment with how things move when they are connected to water. We will make our own boats for boat racing, have floating and sinking activities and have fun making mud pies and other sand delicacies. The possibilities are endless. |
SAND AND SEASHORE- JULY 26 -30
We are bringing the beach to camp! As our beach towels lay on the green grass under a shady tree, the children will enjoy water play in our water table, and a dip in our buckets! There will be sand sculpting, water color outdoor mural painting, seashell art and a scavenger hunt to find and learn about different kinds of shells. Who knows, maybe you even grow your very own sea creature! |
